WELCOME


In 2007, NIT created the Norfolk Island Tourism Awards with the following objectives:
  • Recognise superior levels of business excellence and quality;
  • Encourage service and quality standards;
  • Increase business skills, benchmarking against others;
  • Enhance and unify the diverse industry operations; and
  • Promote growth and economic significance of the tourism industry.

On entering the awards, businesses are encouraged to think beyond day-to-day operations of their business and think strategically about their company, customers, products and services, and marketing. They are encouraged to find ways to improve.

The Tourism Awards process is primarily about the pursuit of business excellence and the use of best practice business processes, but particularly planning and self-assessment, and so it should be viewed as a journey, not a destination.
